The 2.5-liter engine, available as a PZEV certified, amended in 2010 to improve performance, responsiveness and economy. The engine delivers 170 hp @ 5600 rpm and 170 lb.-ft. of peak torque @ 4000 rpm. I have intelligent valve open (farmed) provides a wide torque curve and response at all engine speeds smoothly, while helping to improve fuel economy. All models Subaru Legacy 2010 is equipped with a large fuel tank, now 18.5 gallons vs. 16.9 gallons in the previous model, to extend the driving range.

The team has a new 6-speed manual or a CVT ™ Lineartronic, more spacious 2010 Legacy offers increased acceleration and fuel consumption lower than that for 2009 Subaru Legacy models. Transfer to help make the Subaru Legacy is driving more every day.

Subaru took a chain type CVT, first mounted longitudinally in the world CVT AWD system for production vehicles. The company employs nuclei of smaller size, which helps to make the device compact and can help provide better fuel economy compared to the belt-type CVT. Unlike a conventional automatic transmission, which uses fixed gear, CVT provides infinite variability between higher rates and without significant steps or changes. The CVT continuously and seamlessly adapts to the demand for performance, helping to keep the engine in its operating range of the most effective.

Because a CVT does not shift gears, the driver enjoying a softer performance in all driving situations. The manual mode selectable Lineartronic CVT ™ uses six predefined stages to allow the driver to "shift" manually using paddles behind the wheel.

Subaru Legacy 2.5GT: 265 hp turbo

The new models inherited from generation 2.5GT get a significant boost in performance of the revised 2.5-liter turbocharged / intercooled engine (based on the Impreza WRX engine) went to a new standard manual transmission 6-speed. Especially the new 6-speed is more than 50 pounds lighter than the 6-speed unit used in the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT 2009 spec.B.

Up more boost turbocharger and a new exhaust catalyst uses a low-density against reduced pressure. To improve weight distribution and to help lower the center of gravity is now the turbocharger mounted under the engine. With 265 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of peak torque (243 hp against 241 pound-feet at 2.5GT previous models), can the 2010 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT models accelerate from zero to 60 km / h in under six seconds.

3.6-liter H6 engine: Performance Premium quality with regular fuel

The new 3.6-liter engine replaces the previous 3.0-liter H6, H6, but offers the same outer dimensions, thanks to a unique design connecting rod to shorten. As a result of this increased capacity and a more powerful engine to maintain a good center of gravity low. 3.6 boxer engine produces 256 horsepower and 247 Nm maximum torque compared to 245 hp and 215 Nm of torque 3.0-liter engine in the past. Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing and intake and exhaust valves to optimize power delivery for the entire range of engine speed and reduce emissions.

Not only is the 3.6 engine offers better performance than the previous 3.0-liter, but the fact by using regular grade fuel of the required premium for the 3.0. The specially tuned five-speed automatic, with a higher output torque of this new engine contributes to the Subaru Legacy 3.6R models more responsive when driving in mountainous areas by reducing the "hunting" between gears.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive A key to brand identity

Subaru offers three different drive systems symmetrical line Subaru Legacy 2010, each tailored for engine and transmission type. In Legacy 2.5i models with 6-speed manual transmission, the AWD system uses a viscous center differential lock coupling to distribute power front to rear of 50/50. The change to each set of wheels will send more power to the contrary.

Subaru Legacy 2.5i models with CVT Lineartronic ™ using a transfer clutch, electronically controlled continuously variable to actively manage power distribution in response to driving conditions.

Subaru Legacy 3.6R models are exclusively used for the advanced Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) all-wheel drive, a 5-speed automatic transmission. Planets, the difference is in the midst of a clutch, electronically controlled continuously variable hydraulic transfer to manage power distribution. VTD normally sends more power to the rear wheels to enhance handling agility, and adjusts the power distribution in response to driving and road conditions.

The history of Subaru Safety

2011 Subaru Legacy

Subaru Legacy, like all Subaru models, has always received top scores in tests of government and insurance industry crash. Legacy 2010 is designed to further improve the safety quotient. A ring-shaped frame of Subaru to enhance the security of the structure was more than a decade in all Subaru models, is still the basis for crash protection and safety of passengers of the new generation Subaru Legacy 2010. The new engine cradle design to improve safety in a frontal impact, and 2010, Legacy features high-strength steel is used.

In 2010, Subaru Legacy models include airbags as standard equipment front seat side-impact and side curtain airbags that offer added protection to the heads of front and rear occupants. Intelligent dual-stage front air bags use sensors deployed to detect the presence and weight of a passenger, and also the distance of the driver on the steering wheel. The system determines the force before the deployment of the airbag to protect occupants optimum.

New for 2010 Subaru Legacy, the resistance built on top of the front seats provide better protection against neck injuries in a collision from behind. With all the seats optimized for a rear collision, Subaru replaced the previous active head restraints with a more comfortable.
