‘LEARN TO LIVE WITH CLIMATE CHANGE’, SAYS LEADING EXPERT

At last a voice of reason. But, don't expect too many Greenies with their "redistribution of wealth" agenda to take much notice. Thankfully, due to the Global Financial Crisis most Western governments have run out of money and are now forcing their citizens to cut back on the good times - therefore, they can't impose another dodgy tax. Alas, Australia is still on this road and we'll have to wait and see if Ms Gillard is going to have the guts to hit the country with another great new big tax a climate change deterrent in the form of a monetary contribution from its citizens....

TRYING to halt global warming is a waste of time – we should simply adapt to it, a leading climate expert claimed yesterday.

Reducing carbon dioxide emissions is an “illusory goal”, said Professor Bob Carter of James Cook University, Australia.

He said that CO2 – emitted by burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal and gas – is a “minor” greenhouse gas. And he argued that the past decade has seen a “lack of warming” and that “no significant warming has occurred since 1958.

Professor Carter spoke out as governments from around the world gather for the latest climate talks in Cancun, Mexico.

He told Lord Lawson’s Global Warming Policy Foundation: “Despite an estimated spend of more than £64billion since 1990 looking for a human global temperature signal, assessed against geological reality, no compelling empirical evidence yet exists for a measurable, let alone worrisome, human impact on global average temperature.

“Dealing with climate reality as it unfolds represents the most prudent, practical and cost-effective solution to the global warming/climate change issue.”

This is where the poor climate "elite" are meeting - Cancún.  Yes, I can see them doing it tough there with no limits on having a good time. The good time that some of them want us to stop having so that the developing world can catch up! Hypocrisy at its best.
