Well, this is different.
For some time now, the autosphere has been abuzzed with rumors that BMW's MINI division and Daimler's smart brand may be entering the electric scooter market. Well, British publication Autocar has once again dug up some information on the city-oriented scooter, reporting it is just a concept with no officially announced production plans. Autocar sources say the Smart scooter will use a lithium-ion battery, can travel up to 60 miles on a full charge, and will even come equipped with a single specially designed airbag.
Small-car competitor Mini will also present its electric two-wheel concept in Paris. First divulged on the brand's Facebook page, Mini is calling its scooter (in yellow) the future of urban mobility and is supposedly putting three individual trims on display. A lithium-ion battery will be employed as well.
